Welcome to the Cosmetic Surgery Certification Portal

Getting started

This website is for surgeons wishing to apply for certification in cosmetic surgery. Certification demonstrates that a surgeon meets the requirements of the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) to undertake cosmetic surgery in the private sector. This scheme will help to raise standards and provide patients with a simple ‘quality mark’ to help them find a suitable surgeon.

To be eligible for certification surgeons must be on the General Medical Council's (GMC) specialist register in a relevant specialty.

Applicants can use the site to submit a portfolio of evidence, showing how they meet the RCS requirements for certification. The evidence is then reviewed by our evaluators. If approved, the surgeon is issued a certificate by the Royal College of Surgeons.

If you already have an RCS account (whether or not you are a fellow), please log in above using your RCS login details to begin your application. If you need to be reset your password, please click here. If you don’t have an account on the college website, please register here.

Please ensure your GMC registration details are saved in the ‘My Details’ tab of your RCS account.

If you have all your evidence to hand it should take you around 1 to 2 hours to complete your application. Please read the certification guidelines in full before you start your application.

Please note that if you are on the GMC specialist register in more than one specialty, you are not yet able to login to the portal. Please contact the helpdesk (details below) for further information.
